Martin Compston was concerned that viewers would find him on the new road trip series "annoying."

Martin Compston was concerned that a new six-part documentary chronicling his car trip around Scotland with host Phil MacHugh would make him "annoying" to viewers.

The Waterfront Theatre in Greenock hosted the world premiere of Martin Compston's Scottish Fling.

Compston and MacHugh were cast in the six-part series in Scotland's west coast town of Greenock.

"Because you have the character to hide behind, it can be pretty nerve-wracking.

"I wonder whether I occasionally go overboard, if I'm too alert, or if I'll just bother others." said he.

That's the benefit of doing it with your friend, he said, "We can divide the annoyance between us."

On Thursday, September 8 at 10 p.m., BBC Scotland will debut the first episode.
