'Reviewing' a Texas judge's ruling on HIV medicine coverage is the Biden administration

The Affordable Care Act (ACA), which mandates that health care employers supply HIV prevention medications,

is being reviewed by a Texas judge, according to a statement made by the Biden administration on Wednesday night.

As the Affordable Care Act ("ACA") "has been the law of the land for over 10 years,

" White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tweeted that the administration was examining the decision.

The majority of private health insurers are required by the ACA to provide preventative care and services at no cost to the patient.

Advisory committees like the U.S. Preventive Task Force (USPSTF) provide recommendations regarding which of those are covered under the health care law.

More than 40 million people have died from HIV, according to the World Health Organization, making it a "serious" global public health issue.
